Hello, I recently added 2 Platinum 1 transducers to my system and I cant begin to tell you the awesome effects they add to the realism of the movie watching experience!! I initially attached them to the bottom of my sofa (now referred to as my Jurassic Couch) and hooked them to an Adcom 125 watt amp and began testing. The effect was nothing less than AWESOME!! After playing with them for months in that configuration, I found out about Kinetic Isolators. These are rubber feet that attach to the bottom of your sofa or chair that isolate the vibrations that the transducers produce to only the seating area...WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT!! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, the isolators took my installation to another level!! Not only did they seem to free up the transducers to move my seating area more freely, they actually allow them to produce more of the bass effect with less power driving them!! I strongly suggest that anyone using Clark Transducers in any configuration should also use the Kinetic Isolation feet with them to enhance and improve the over all effect. The next step for me was to build a platform which would help involve my feet and legs in the action... Boy did it ever!!! I left the transducers attached to my couch and allowed the vibrations to "transduce" thru it down to the platform. This allowed the effect to be felt thru my entire body which gave the sensation of having much larger sub woofers in the front sound stage! The feeling prior to the platform was a total separation of the effect from the sound stage (not optimal) but once my feet and legs became involved it became a seamless effect which was much more enjoyable and realistic!! I also moved the Kinetic isolators to the bottom of the platform so that the entire seating area is basically a resonant floating bass machine!! I guess you can tell by my enthusiasm that I Love my Clark Transducers and I get more "oooh's" and "Ahha" from my family and friends as a result of their addition than anything else in my $50,000 plus home theater system. I strongly recommend them to anyone that’s ready to elevate their system to the next and possibly final frontier! Happy listening, |
