Mick Crocodile Dundee returns in this third installment of the popular film series. This time around, Mick, along with his girlfriend Sue and young son, head out to California. While temporarily taking charge of her father's L.A. newspaper bureau, Sue begins working a story suggesting foul play at a movie studio. Mick gets a job at the studio to uncover more information and he ultimately brings the wrongdoers to justice using his trademark Outback skills.
Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles stars Paul Hogan, Linda Kozlowski, Jere Burns, Jonathan Banks, Aida Turturro and Paul Rodriguez. It was written by Matthew Berry and Eric Abrams, directed by Simon Wincer, and features music by Basil Poledouris. Released theatrically in 2001, the film is rated PG with a feature length running time of 94 minutes.
The movie is presented in an anamorphic widescreen version (1.85:1). The overall quality of the transfer is excellent. Images are well defined and colors are vivid with fully saturated hues. There is nice contrast with dark black levels. Picture defect mastering is perfect with no major flaws or digital compression artifacts.

The following language tracks are available on this disc: English Dolby Digital 5.1 and English Dolby 2.0 surround. The following subtitle tracks are available on this disc: English subtitles and closed captions. The English Dolby Digital 5.1 track is the basis of this review. Dialogue is clear and natural sounding. There is minimal surround channel usage, and this usage is reserved for ambience and music. There are limited instances of discrete channel activity, and it is confined to the forward channels. The LFE channel is sparingly utilized to add punch to the music in the movie.

The tactile sound effects for this film are average and are present in about half of the DVD's chapters. The types of tactile effects that can be experienced on this disc range from light to moderate impacts. The best tactile information, resulting in some extended moderate impacts, occurs in chapter 4 (the pulsating music accompanying Mick's arrival in Los Angeles) and in chapter 6 (dance music playing at the studio party).
