In the year 2006, a great earthquake shatters the planet and leaves it divided with few survivors.  The state of California has now become an isolated island.  On this island, a group of survivors come together under the leadership of an Air Force captain.  While trying to find a route back to the mainland, this group searches for food, fuel and fellow survivors.  Their task becomes ever more difficult when a violent group of criminals attempts to gain control of the island and all of its remaining resources.             

The Last Warrior stars Dolph Lundgren, Sherri Alexander, Joe Michael Burke, Rebecca Cross, Terry Bigcharles, Brook Parker and Julianno Merr.  It was written by Stephen J. Brackely and Pamela K. Long, directed by Sheldon Lettich and features music by David Michael Frank.  A direct-to-video release, the film is rated PG-13 with a feature length running time of 95 minutes. 

The movie is presented in a non-anamorphic fullscreen version (4:3).  The overall quality of the transfer is very good.  Images are sharp and colors are accurate.  There is nice contrast with deep black levels.  Picture defect mastering is solid with no major flaws or digital compression artifacts.

The following language tracks are available on this disc: English Dolby Digital 2.0 surround.  The following subtitle tracks are available on this disc: English closed captions.  The English Dolby Digital 2.0 track is the basis of this review.  Dialogue is clear and intelligible.  Despite being an action picture, the surround channels are largely subdued.  There are several instances of discrete channel activity that take place in the forward channels.  Bass response is adequate but never explosive.

The tactile sound effects for this film are average and are scattered throughout the DVD's chapters.  The types of tactile effects that can be experienced on this disc are light to moderate impacts.
